Food for Skin - Best Foods for a Healthy Skin

Skin is one of the most visible organs, which is why many people are concerned with its general health. There are many food types more commonly referred to as food for skin that help promote the overall health of a individuals skin. With there being many food for skin that all offer great results, we are going to focus more on those that are the most effective in comparison to others.

On a general note it is important to realize that all food for skin are known to be high in antioxidants which are essential for healthy skin.
Fish & Chicken
Your skin requires a lot of protein for both the muscle and skin. The skin is built up of thousands of cells that are often damaged due to the harsh conditions that we live in. To help repair the cells, proteins are an essential as they are the building blocks of life. For this reason it is highly recommended to consume chicken and fish on a regular basis with some occasional portions of meat.
When people here about consuming chicken, fish and meat, they often tend to misinterpret what is required. This does not mean that you can eat a big Mac or a chicken burger from Mc Donald’s. That in effect will actually make your skin worse. You need to try and avoid any junk food or foods that are high in oil. Due to the complex nature of oil, this tends to make it more difficult for your skin to repair and as a results leads to more damage. Try making sure that any chicken, fish or meat that you do consume is either steamed or grilled. This reduces your oil intake which drastically will improve your skin.
Many may argue that the food does not taste the same; however it is important for one to make certain sacrifices if they wish to see results. If you are concerned about the taste of the food, then it is a good idea to have a look at certain recipes that are grilled and steamed but taste as good as fried food.
Fruits & Vegetables
Another food for skin that is known to be high in antioxidants is fruits; Kiwi’s and Berries in particular. They are known to be very healthy for the skin and help in giving it that young and glowing look. Consuming strawberries and blueberries also fall under the “berries” category. These are known to be very good for the skin as well. If you do not like consuming Kiwis or the berries mentioned then you can always make fresh juice out of them to consume it in a liquid form.
Now looking at vegetables in particular, it is a good idea to go for carrots and cucumbers. Consuming both carrots and cucumbers is really good for giving your skin that uplifting look. You can also use cucumbers to be placed over your eyes to help with your dark circles.
Green Tea
Green tea has always been a doctor’s favorite. It is important to drink green tea in its most natural form to ensure you get the maximum benefit ever.
Eggs
Eggs have always been known to help the skin develop. With eggs you have two great options. You can decide to consume two eggs a day but have to make sure they are boiled or you can make a paste using eggs which can be applied to the skin. To see maximum results it is recommended to eat two boiled eggs a day.
