Athlete’s foot ( tinea pedis)  is an infection of the foot caused by fungus called Trichophyton. When our feet stay moist, warm, and irritated, the Trichophyton fungus  thrives and infects the upper layer of our skin.  Though common on the skin surface of the feet - such infections may happen anywhere on the skin. The most coomon areas are the scalp, arms, legs, hands, feet, nails and more.

Most common symptoms:  itching, burning, and redness on the skin surface of the feet - mostly between the toes, the infection’s starting point.
