Common Acne Myths
Myth No.1: Acne develops as a result of poor hygiene… Hmm.. If you believe that silly old myth, and try to wash your skin too hard and too frequently, you may actually worsen your situation. Acne is not caused by dirt or on-surface skin oils - ut has deeper roots. Too much washing or scrubbing may irritate the skin and make worsen your acne.
Myth No.2: Acne is caused by a certain diet. Well, not exactly. Scientific studies have not yet found a valid connection between any type of diet and acne. In other words, food does not cause acne. And yes - that means chocolate, fries and other fatty foods that we all like.
Myth No.3: Acne is just a minor, superficial cosmetic problem. WRONG. Acne can result in permanent physical scars–plus, acne itself as well as its scars can have substantial psychological affects.
Myth No.4: There’s no point trying to beat acne - just let it pass by itself. WRONG. Acne can be cleared up when properly treated. Go see a dermatologist. With the products available today, there is no reason why someone has to suffer from acne throughout it’s adolescence.
