Defining Stretch Marks

Strech marks are scars created  when the skin is overstretched, and some of its layers are broken. It occurs mostly during massive growth periods for the outer surface, like bodybuilding, pregnancy, extreme weight gain.

Usually the strech marks are found on the breasts, abdomen, buttocks, legs and arms. Fresh marks appear as red lines, then fade to a pale offwhite color during the next couple of months.

It is possible to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, but usually its just easier to prevent them in the first place.

Preventing Stretch Marks

Stretch marks occurs when the skin is stretched to the limit, and therefore the best prevention is  to reduce the stretching or increase skins elasticity, or both. In this artice we’ll discuss how to increase skins elasticity.

Increasing Skin’s Elasticity

The easiest ways to increase skin’s elasticity involves usage of Skin Creams and Lotions.– Lotions containing cocoa butter help reduce stretch marks, and can sometimes prevent them entirely. An oil or cream made to prevent or treat stretch marks will help to keep your skin, healthy, good looking and elastic. Pregnant or breast feeding woman should consult a doctor, since some lotions contain ingredients passed into breast milk, or to the unborn.
